Highlights from 2013 – Hot Buttered Rum

Thanks for the great year, this has been a good one for Butter! So many big times in so many places. We are grateful to our community for their love and support for our particular vision of music and motion. Happy New Year from Aaron, Bryan, Erik, Lucas & Nat. See you in 2014, we’re going to be working hard this year bringing HBR to a town near you.

: Cindy Indavis– Good times at Hangtown Halloween Ball.

: Pete Mecozzi– Just this past month, you all returned to AZ for two nights (Flagstaff and Phoenix)… and I was given an opportunity to shoot some photos of the band, which still has me grinning from ear to ear like a Cheshire Cat! Thank you ALL for the wonderful music, magic and memories! See you soon, Butter Boys! Cheers!

: Amy Carder– Shoveling rocks on the Grand Turks was a pretty good 2013 moment. Good year in general. Saw you guys in SF for NYE, Jamcruise, SF during Hardly Strictly and then on your NW tour in Portland, Seattle and Bham. Good stuff!

: Ian Quinn– Had a blast these two nights! 04-12-2013 – Hopmonk – Novato, CA

: Jennifer Frimml– Bellingham revival of Rocket Man! Soooo good!

: Jeff Ledson– Oh man.. I might’ve missed out on my FAVORITE music picture for 2013. Was planning on taking that at fall strawberry with Kyle pick in’ with the butter gang…. (Unfortunately Strawberry was cancelled because of the rim fire.) But it’s tough to beat a performance from your son on the main stage at this year’s Fathers Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley! Happy new year to the butter gang. Hope to see you in 2014!

: Richard Gray– When HBR invaded EDHS and gave the students an impromptu show as well as the “real life” of a musician! Thanks for making a memorable experience for the students (and their teacher :D)!

: Chris Robinson– Pickin Party on Jamcruise was frickin fun.

: Chris Robinson– Ringing in 2013 in SF was a great HBR moment. Disco theme, no?

: Jessica Bothwell Keay– The Keays @ one of two HBR shows in April. We were at Crystal Bay w TLG & Hop Monk Tavern. The first of 5 HBR shows we went to while pregnant! My last show before delivering our baby girl (picture attached) was the Independent in October.

: Jessica Bothwell Keay– Our daughter Louisa Anne born 11/4/2013 is being raised on love & Hetch Hetchy water & lots of HBR!!

: Jessica Bothwell Keay– Congrats on an amazing 2013, we’ve been fans since seeing you open for New Monsoon in 2006. It has been amazing watching you guys grow as incredible musicians & human beings. Your latest album is on repeat in our house as we adjust to parenthood, our newest joy. Here’s looking to bringing her to see you in 2014. Happy Holidays!

Jim Cantin– Echo Lake with Nat and company playing Happy Birthday and some tunes this summer, on the water Taxi…With my wife. Great way to start a hike!

Jon Eric– The best moment? Crossing circles again at Terrapin Hill Farm/Music Venue! SO awesome when that happens!

Matt Schaum– Avalon theater, y’all closed it down family style on the floor. That was an awesome end of set move. Also the new speedway boogie was grate!
