We were recently sponsored 6 cameras from GoPro. Here’s our first multi-camera GoPro shoot live in Seattle last weekend, playing the third track from the new album.
“Blackberry Pie” is an HBR concert workhorse and fan favorite. Be sure to listen to the studio version to the right, we got to put together a really nice production for this one. There’s your sneak peak, we’ll have the album for you May 30 at our Terrapin Crossroads CD release party, and the rest of the summer across the country at festivals and venues.
Here’s what composer Aaron Redner has to say about this song:
“I wrote this song on the top of Mount Tamalpais in Marin County. It was a stream of consciousness moment during a healing time in my life. I always heard it as a jug band spiritual with tons of call and response.”
BLACKBERRY PIE -Aaron Redner
I wrote this song with no eraser,
Now she’s gone and the boys will chase her,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Way up high in the meadow, I can see an urban ghetto,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Yellow brick road paved in gravel,
Battle scars earned in battle,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Eagle cries glory, glory,
Distant ships, another story,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Shine your light, shine your sweet, sweet light,
It’s all a poor boy can do, to try and see,
Shine your light, I’ll take everything in sight,
I ain’t feeling right and wrong ain’t far away,
Every friend is first a stranger,
Make amends with your saviour,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
UFO’s and crop formations, different takes on creation,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Hide your head, Chicken Little,
If I’m not dead I’m gonna play my fiddle,
Shine your light, shine your light on me,
Blackberry pie, made with butter,
Dry my eyes, and find another,
Shine your light, shine your light on me
